Sabeen Mahmud was a famous Pakistani social worker and human rights activist. She was born on June 20, 1974 in Karachi, Pakistan. She died on April 24, 2015, at the age of 40 in Karachi, Pakistan by Assassination (gunshot wounds). She was shot by a gunman (Saad Aziz and Aliur Rehman) more than 4 times when she was on her way home after hosting a seminar. She was well known for the foundation of the Karachi-based cafe “The Second Floor”. She received primary and secondary education in her hometown.
