Tehran: Abul Hassan Bani-Sadr, who became the country’s president after the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, has died.

Iran’s state news agency IRNA quoted sources close to the former president as saying that Iran’s first president, Abul Hassan Bani-Sadr, had died in a hospital in southeastern Paris. He was eighty-eight years old.
