It is to be noted that Federal Minister for Information Fawad Chaudhry was earlier the Minister of Science and Technology, and former Chairman Ruwit Hilal Committee Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman.
And he used to discuss the issue of moon, and even before the announcement of Ruwit Hilal Committee, the Ministry Science used to announce the sighting of the moon, but Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman was removed from the post of chairman of the sighting committee and was replaced by Imam and Khatib of Badshahi Mosque Maulana Abul Khabir as chairman of the sighting committee.
