ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed to complete the digitization of Lahore land records as soon as possible so that the people can get relief against occupation and encroachment mafia.

He gave these instructions while presiding over a meeting of the National Coordinating Committee for Housing, Construction and Development.

The Prime Minister was briefed about the ongoing property map in Lahore and was informed that work on the project was going on smoothly and would be completed by the 15th of next month.

He was also apprised of the progress on various housing projects being implemented under the Ministry of Housing and Construction.

It was also informed that the Ministry is constructing 86,323 houses at a cost of Rs. 463 billion. Under these projects, construction activities are intensifying, which will create more than two lakh jobs in the country.

In addition, construction activities will generate economic activities worth over Rs. 2 trillion.

The Prime Minister reiterated that the promotion of vertical constructions in the form of multi-storied buildings is a priority of the government which will meet the needs of the growing population and also ensure efficient use of land as per the digital ownership map of cities.
