In the 31st and crucial match of T20 World Cup, Pakistan defeated Namibia by 45 runs to qualify for the semi-finals.
In the match played in Abu Dhabi, the captain of the national cricket team Babar Azam decided to bat first after winning the toss. Pakistan scored 189 runs in the allotted 20 overs.
Namibia made a cautious start in pursuit of the target, but opener Michael van Langen soon lost the wicket and scored just four runs, while Stephen Bard scored 29 off 29 balls.
For Namibia, Craig Williams resisted the Pakistani bowlers but lost to Shadab Khan for 40 while skipper Gerhard Erasmus could only manage 15 runs. Apart from him, David Visaye stood out with an unbeaten 29 runs.
For Pakistan, Hassan Ali, Emad Wasim, Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan took one wicket each.
Earlier, batting first, captain Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan played aggressively and shared a 113-run stand.
For Pakistan, Mohammad Rizwan and Mohammad Hafeez remained unbeaten, scoring 55 and 40 runs respectively.
David Visay and Frylink took one wicket each for Namibia.
