KABUL: Afghanistan’s Interim Foreign Minister Maulvi Amir Khan Mottaki has said that he is grateful to all the countries including Pakistan and Qatar for providing assistance.
Talking to media in Kabul, the Afghan interim foreign minister said,
“We have received aid from Qatar, Pakistan and Uzbekistan. We thank all these countries.”
Some countries have made aid conditional on their demands. We want good relations with all countries but we will not come under pressure from any country.
Continuing his speech, he said that former Foreign Ministry officials should continue their work, the officials in our embassies are still representatives of Afghanistan. If the agreements made by the previous government are in the national interest, they will continue. These agreements should not be in conflict with our ideology and religion.
Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi said that the government formed in the last few days is a completely coalition government, our caretaker government includes people from all groups, they have been changing the cabinet till final consent, something related to women’s rights. The objections of the countries are unacceptable.
“So far no country has spoken of recognizing the Taliban government. We have met with representatives of the United Nations and countries in the region. They have expressed some concerns that they are trying to address,”
he said. Each country has its own foreign policy. We would welcome anyone who would like to recognize the Islamic Emirate. There is no fighting anywhere in the country which is a positive aspect.
The Afghan interim foreign minister said that efforts would be made to bring back the refugees from abroad and to make every effort to resettle the people inside the country in their areas and homes.
Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi said that
Those who want to leave Afghanistan are free to go, investors will come to Afghanistan and provide full security. Traders and investors are urged to start their own businesses, make profits for themselves and benefit the people. The international organizations that have left their projects unfinished in Afghanistan will complete the projects and cooperate fully.
Earlier, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, former prime minister of Afghanistan and head of Hezb-e-Islami, said he was grateful for Imran Khan’s announcement not to give bases to the United States and not to be a part of the war. No, Pakistan has played an important role for peace in Afghanistan.
Imran Khan said that our land will not be used against any country. We support Imran Khan’s position and are grateful to him.
