Lt. Gen. Nigar Johar appointed 1st Colonel Commandant of Army Medical Corps.

Lt. Gen. Nigar Johar has been posted as the first Colonel Commandant of the Army Medical Corps. Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa placed badges on him during his visit to Army Medical Corps (AMC) Abbottabad.

According to a statement issued by Pakistan Army Public Relations (ISPR), Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Army Medical Corps (AMC) Abbottabad.

According to the spokesperson, the Army Chief conferred the badges of Colonel Commandant Army Medical Corps on Lieutenant General Nigar Johar.

It should be noted that Nigar Johar is also the first Lieutenant General and the first Surgeon General of Pakistan.

Lt. Gen. Nigar Johar hails from Panj Pir village in Swabi district. She studied at a school in Rawalpindi and graduated from Army Medical College.

Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that

The promotion of the first three star female General Officer is a source of pride for the Pakistan Army and the country.

Appreciating the services of the Medical Corps for maintaining high standard of medical facilities during war and peace, the Chief of Army Staff said that the AMC had rendered excellent services at home and abroad.

The Chief of Army Staff said that our doctors and paramedics have been front line warriors during the Karuna epidemic while they rendered services for the safety and welfare of the people of Pakistan.

According to ISPR, Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa also laid flowers at the memorial.
