Elie Wiesel was a famous Romanian-born American professor, writer, political activist, and Novel laureate. He was born on September 30, 1928, in Sighet, Kingdom of Romania. He died on July 2, 2016, at the age of 87 in New York City, U.S. He is also the author of more than 57 books in languages like French and English. He married Marion Erste Rose in 1969. He is the father of one child named Elisha. Elie received many awards in his lifetime including the Congressional Gold Medal in 1984, French Legion of Honor – Commander (1984), Grand Officer (1990), Grand Cross (2000), Nobel Peace Prize in 1986, Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1992, and Honorary knighthood in 2006.
