He started his early education in his hometown. After completing his graduation. Escalante taught subjects of mathematics and physics in different schools in Bolivia for more than 12 years.
Escalante became very famous in 1982 when 18 of his students passed the Advanced Placement Calculus exam. He gained recognition and media attention worldwide.
